Product information
With the advent of ‘craft gin’, gin has undergone a major transition. With rare botanicals and base liquors, it is now commonplace to seek strong individuality in each bottle.
However, the characteristic of Takasu Distillery's [RETROGRADE] is its classic ‘gin-ness’.
By going against the current of the times, we aimed for the freedom of a good old-fashioned gin.
The botanicals are based on an orthodox recipe. To this we added blueberries from Takasu and rare Timur peppers to accentuate the complex sweetness and subtle stimulation.
The original spirit is made from British wheat derivatives. During distillation, heart-cuts were made from over 140 sections. The heart section was also softened for mouthfeel and drinking comfort by the generous and time-consuming addition of super-soft water obtained from the mountain range in egg-shaped concrete tanks.
Our gin can be served in cocktails such as martinis and gin and tonics, as a food drink with soda or water, on the rocks or straight. RETROGRADE is a free-flowing gin.
